Economically Active Population, Estimates and Projections (6th edition, October 2011)

The database contains country estimates and projections of the total population, the activity rates and the economically active population (labour force) by sex and eleven age groups ([15-19], [20-24], ..., [60-64] and 65 years and over).

The 6th edition shows estimates from 1990 to 2010 and projections to 2020. Please note that due to updated information and methodological changes, the results of the 6th edition may be different from those previously disseminated for the same year/country for both the total estimates and the projections.

In this edition, the historical estimates (1990-2010) are now accompanied by detailed metadata for each data point. The metadata include several fields regarding the source of collected data, the type of adjustments made to harmonise them (when needed) and the type of imputation method used to fill missing data.

Important note:
The source for the population figures used in this database is "The 2010 Revision of the World Population Prospects (http://esa.un.org/unpd/wpp/index.htm)" issued by the United Nations.
This exercise has been completed as of end July 2011. Any data published after this date are therefore not taken into account.
